Hello lovelies! Isn't life just grand? Things are going well for me in tiny South Korea, despite the cold harsh weather winds and dry dry air. I'm over my wretched cold, thank goddess! David is, as well. We were both miserable all last week, especially since the timing was less than peachy - we missed out on all the New Years festivites. What a bummer.
Anyhow, I'm happy it's Thursday tomorrow because that means the weekend is rapidly approaching and weekends are always lovely. Plus, We leave for Thailand a week from Saturday. I'm seriously dying of anticipation - I can hardly stand still. My mind always wanders to thoughts of tropical beaches and grand palaces and wild safari adventures. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime (excluding this whole living in South Korea thing...maybe)! Here's our rough itinerary
January 17 - Arrive in Thailand around 5pm, check in at ikea-like Lub D and have dinner
January 18-19 - explore Thailand day and night life!
January 20 - Temple Tours (see The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Emerald Buddha Temple)
January 21 - WHO KNOWS!
January 22 - Kanchanaburi and Tiger Temple (World War ll cemetery, World War ll Museum, Bridge Over Kwai, Relax at Saiyok Noi Water Fall, lunch, Tiger Temple, Tiger Canyon)
January 23-24 - WHO KNOWS!
January 25 - Venture to Pattaya's Coral Island
January 26 - Elephant Trekking in Kanchanaburi (includes Raft house & Restaurant for lunch/relaxing, long tails boat to Bamboo rafting, elephant riding, Sai Yok Noi waterfall)
January 27/28 - WHO KNOWS!
January 29 - pack up and head back to Seoul, SK
The "WHO KNOWS" portions will entail all sorts of adventures including: Thai massages, Attuyu/ancient Thailand, visiting Thailand tribes, the bustling Khao San Rd., Floating markets, Rose Garden, parks, restaurants, etc.
You can tell why I can't sit still, right? Too exciting. Here's to a smooth and enjoyable trip! :)
Anyway, still planning away like crazy on our wedding. I've made a lot of progress in the last 2 weeks and the dinero damage isn't looking to bad at this point. We've found some really great prices. I like to think I have exquisite taste (it's okay to gag at my conceitedness) and an unrivaled ability to find the best bargains. Of course I spend hours upon hours bargain shopping and weighing options...sometimes even weeks searching for the lowest price for the best quality. That's all part of the fun!
I'll stop blabbing. I need to start a blog just for wedding talk so that people who don't want to listen to me gab away about favors and invites and beverages and shoes can avoid the incessant rambling.
Before I scurry off, here are some pictures from last weekend. David and I went to Itaewon for my haircut at Green Turtle Salon and ate dinner at this lovely Thai restaurant. It was called Thai Orchid was on the 3rd floor. As the pictures show, the place was magnificently designed and herred on the side of whimsical. Not to mention, the food was delicious and vegetarian-friendly!
