I'm a new soul, I came to this strange world

The title of my blog is rather appropriate, me-thinks! It's another Yael favorite! :)

Anyway, my weekend was excellent. I did a whole bunch of nothing and then a lot more of the same. In other words: it was much needed.

It's strange though, I don't feel quite as refreshed as I thought I would have. I think sometimes getting out and exploring reinvigorates the soul. Note to self: get out more this weekend. David and I did, however, venture around the Hanam-si area.

Whenever we come home from the subway station and take bus number 112 we go through this part of Hanam that is always bustling and chock-full of shoppers and shops. So Saturday I thought it would be fun to walk around that area. And it was. I picked up lots of little trinkets (including cupcake and strawberry hair clips) and we also stopped at this darling little cafe with mouth-watering desserts. I was taking so many pictures that David said, "I'll feel guilty if we don't buy anything!" So of course, we did. Two truffles. :) They made the perfect photo subject a mere 3 hours later.

Speaking of photos, I seem to be taking a lot of them as of late. That's a good thing. I'm thinking about putting together a book called, "Faces" that will feature portraits of all those people who I've encountered around the world. I want to do another book with sweets, too. I think I'll call the book, "Sweet World." If anyone steals that name I'll bust a cap.

Speaking of the world, David and I are preparing for a vacation to Thailand in January. We'll stay for 2 weeks and soak up the sun and flavor of all things Thai. I've talked to several friends who live in Korea and have ventured to Thailand and they rave about it (though the tour busses are something to avoid, I've heard). I'm excited. We almost decided on Japan because the price was ridiculously inexpensive, but I think we'll opt to take a ferry over there for super cheap in the spring and spend 3-4 days in Tokyo.

Picture time. Enjoy

Caviar Sushi
The bright red/green/yellow is caviar. I preferred the Shrimp sushi. Yesterday I had an octopus sushi...it was...alright. :)

How fitting :)

A lot of the cafe's/bakeries here have French writing all over. One of the more popular cafe's is actually called "Tous Les Jours!"

Aren't the truffles darling?

That's all. May you have sweet dreams and an even sweeter reality!

Hey Wendy ~
That colorful sushi doesn't look like anything I've seen here! Yes, the truffles are darling, but even more darling is the polka-dot background! What is that!? (the box they came in? or maybe some of the fun stationery you've found?) Be sure to let me know when you're in Japan! I'm excited for you about your trip to Thailand. I've also heard rave reviews and hope to visit sometime soon. :)

Glad you like the truffle (and the background). It's some paper I picked up here. I have a huge supply at home for photography so I've slowly been adding up a new collection here. :)

I will definitely let you know when we're coming to Tokyo. It'll probably be a 3-4 day stay and we may come over by ferry from busan.
I bet you're eager to visit Indy! :)
